Fortnite Season 4 patch notes haven't been officially released by Epic Games — that's been the developer's modus operandi for several months now — but players are working around the clock to crowdsource a list of changes. Here's what we know so far about the adjustments and arrivals in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4.

Fortnite Season 4 Patch Notes

Map Changes

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4's map changes are modest compared to some of the game's previous seasons. Doom's Domain has replaced Pleasant Park, a Sentinel graveyard has appeared in the mountains, and the pre-match lobby is now a massive Helicarrier.

At the start of each match, four Quinjets land at random spots on the map. Players have the chance to loot some of the new Mythic items at these locations. The jets are guarded by Stark Robots carrying laser weapons.

Vaulted and Unvaulted Weapons

The new season restored plenty of old weapons while sending many to the vault. The unvaulted weapons include the following:

  • Shockwave Grenade
  • Boogie Bomb
  • Pump Shotgun
  • Bounce Pad
  • Bandage Cannon
  • Revolver
  • Scoped Assault Rifle
  • Tactical Submachine Gun
  • Combat Shotgun
  • Port-a-Fort

Meanwhile, these weapons were sent to the vault:

  • Decoy Grenades
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Pistol (Epic/Legendary)
  • Rapid-Fire SMG (Rare/Epic/Legendary)
  • Launch Pad
  • Stink Bomb
  • Hunting Rifle
  • SMG
  • Flare Gun

Marvel-Based Mythic Items

The update also brought four new Mythic-rarity items based on Marvel characters. They're likely the first of many.

  • Doctor Doom's Mythical Bomb
  • Doctor Doom's Arcane Gauntlets
  • Silver Surfer's Board
  • Groot's Bramble Shield

The new season also brings a Fire Trap and the Stark Industries Energy Rifle wielded by the bots guarding Quinjet locations.

Fortnite Fishing Rework

Data mining by FireMonkey indicates six new fish have been added to the game alongside a Pro Fishing Rod. Each provides a different bonus to the player that catches them. Here are the new fish:

  • Vendetta Flopper: Marks a nearby enemy
  • Spicy Fish: Grants a speed boost
  • Hop Flopper: Grants low gravity
  • Jellyfish: Splashes health and shields for nearby players
  • Shield Fish: Grants shields
  • Thermal Fish: Grants thermal vision

Balance Adjustments

Exact numbers on balance adjustments are hard to nail down without extensive testing, but players are reporting the following changes:

  • Car spawn rate reduced by 30%
  • Common Assault Rifle damage increased from 30 to 35
  • Uncommon Assault Rifle damage increased from 31 to 35
  • Rare Assault Rifle damage increased from 33 to 35
  • Legendary Scar damage decreased from 36 to 35
  • Chest spawn rates reduced from 100% to 70%
  • Old Mythic bosses removed
  • Can Sidegrade a Charge Shotgun to a Pump and back again

Players will likely discover more changes as the season progresses.
