Fortnite Weapon Tier List September 2020
S-Tier
- Superpowers
- Rocket Launcher
The Mythic Superpowers can only be obtained by defeating the associated Hero. These powers are nothing short of ridiculous, warping the early game into a grand scramble over them. As of the writing of this list, Doctor Doom and Iron Man are the two boss enemies you can defeat. Doctor Doom's Arcane Gauntlets and Iron Man's Repulsor Gauntlets have unlimited ammo, and give you a mobility skill as well. The secondary Mystical Bomb and Unibeam are great for destroying enemy structures.
There are less impactful powers like Thor's Mjolnir Strike that can be found in Stark drones, but those are still strong in their own right. The Bramble Shield and Surf Board are strong mobility skills you won't be embarrassed to have.
The Rocket Launcher is now incredibly rare, appearing only as Legendary. The only knock against it is how rare it is, as you can only find them from the randomly spawning Gorgers.
A-Tier
- Scoped Assault Rifle
- Pump Shotgun
- Combat Shotgun
- Assault Rifle
- Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
The Pump is back, and the Combat Shotgun is along for the ride, too. Both will make you unparalleled in close range combat, though you'll be punished for missing shots.
While the Shotgun is certainly iconic for Fortnite, the range is still king. This season, we get two excellent ranged choices in the Sniper and Scoped Assault Rifle. The Sniper gives you more reach, but the Scoped Assault Rifle is less punishing and easier to use.
As always, the Assault Rifle is an all-around great choice, performing well at any range.

Introducing the latest from Stark Labs, the Stark Industries Energy Rifle.

- Light Machine Gun
- Tactical SMG
- Suppressed SMG
- Burst Assault Rifle
- Stark Industries Energy Rifle
The Light Machine Gun can only be found by defeating the Doom Henchmen guarding the vault. It's easy to grab and they do well to destroy structures, but it blows through ammo quicker than you'd like.
The SMGs are solid, but they occupy a weird range just in between the Shotgun and Assault Rifle. Higher rarity SMGs can replace an Assault Rifle and do a reasonable impression.
The Burst suffered a few nerfs last season, but it still performs well if you have good aim. In a similar vein, the Stark Industries Energy Rifle fires straight and works well at long range when aiming down sights. When firing from the hip, it shoots faster but more erratically.
C-Tier
- Charge Shotgun
- Revolver
The Charge Shotgun and Revolver do the jobs of other weapons, just worse. They both excel at close range, but they should be replaced as soon as you find a Pump or SMG. The Revolver can serve as a Sniper in a pinch at medium range. The success of the Revolver, like the pistol, relies heavily on nailing headshots.
Don't Use Tier
- Pistol
The pistol takes too much effort to use. Just grab an SMG.
