How Much Did Epic Games Buy Rocket League For?
Epic Games announced its acquisition of Rocket League developer Psyonix on Wednesday. The deal will allow Psyonix greater access to resources in support of Rocket League’s esports scene. It will also bring Rocket League to the Epic Games store by late 2019.
Reports originally indicated Epic Games would remove the option to purchase Rocket League from Steam, though continued support would be offered to the platform. Epic Games went on to clarify that it did not have definitive plans to remove Rocket League from Steam.
“Long-term plans will be announced in the future,” an Epic spokesperson said (via Engadget).
Terms of the deal, including how much money Epic Games spent on the acquisition, were not made public. If that changes, we'll let you know.
