How to Change Crosshair in Overwatch 2

Blizzard

As a first-person shooter game, aiming is important in Overwatch 2. Many people stick with the default crosshairs, especially in casual play, but if you watch professional esports players in the Overwatch League, you might see them switching their crosshair up in order to improve precision aiming. Here's how to do the same.

Changing the crosshair in Overwatch 2 is a simple process that can make a big difference in gameplay. Heroes like Cassidy, Widowmaker and Ashe - whose hitscan weaponry delivers damage instantly - require accuracy that the default crosshair might hinder.

How to Change Crosshair in Overwatch 2

Changing crosshair settings requires navigating to the "Controls" tab of the Settings Menu and going to the Reticle tab. There, a number of Advanced options can be found to customize the crosshair to a player's preferences.

These include:

  • Show Accuracy: When this setting is enabled, the crosshair will change in size to indicate it is centered on an enemy.
  • Color: Change the color of the crosshair
  • Thickness: The thickness of the lines that comprise the crosshair
  • Length: The length of the lines that comprise the crosshair
  • Center Gap: The gap between lines in the crosshair. It is usually tighter for aim-based heroes and wider for non-aim-based heroes.
  • Opacity and Outline Opacity: Denotes the transparency level of the crosshair
  • Center Dot Size and Opacity: Plays may have a dot at the center of their crosshair. This setting determines how big and opaque it is.
  • Scale with Resolution: When enabled, the crosshair will grow and shrink depending on the resolution of the monitor the game is being played on.
