Astral Alignment is a new activity Destiny 2 players can undertake in the newly released Season of the Lost. It requires six players and tight-knit cooperation, and will draw parallels to Overrides from the last Destiny 2 season, but has a few twists of its own. Here's how to complete it.

How to Complete Astral Alignment Offensive in Destiny 2

The first step in completing Astral Alignment Offensive is to charge the Wayfinder's Compass by taking out nearby enemies. This part of the activity usually begins in the Blind Well, moving players deeper into the Dreaming City as they complete more objectives.

Next, you'll have to collapse a handful of Taken rifts by dropping Taken Essence into specified locations. You'll be able to pick up these Taken Essence when they drop from Eyes of Xivu Arath, which function in a manner similar to Eyes of Riven from Forsaken's Last Wish raid.

When a Taken Essence drops, you'll see it on your HUD with a 45-second countdown attached. Grab it and take it to one of the locations indicated on your HUD. While you're carrying the Taken Essence, you'll be able to use it to shoot at enemies.

Once you've dropped off enough Taken Essence, you'll be given one of two tasks. Petra could tell you to prevent the Ether Harvest, which you'll do by preventing the Scorn from absorbing Ether by protecting the Servitors and shooting the Ether balls that start flying around. You'll occasionally run into Majors in this part of the activity, but they aren't a big (major?) part of the activity.

Alternatively, Petra could send you to charge the batteries. You'll need to bring out Paracausal Batteries that slow you for 18 seconds when carried. When those 18 seconds are up, you'll get the Exhausted debuff. That forces you to drop what you're holding and makes it impossible to pick up new batteries for 10 seconds. This task will become far easier if you set up a relay system with your teammates.

Finally, you'll return to the Blind Well to take down a boss with Taken shields. To drop that shield, watch for warnings about Taken pylons spawning, follow them, and kill the enemies nearby. They'll drop Taken Essence, which you can use to shoot the shields off of the boss. When the shields are down, let 'em have it. When they come back up, repeat until the fight's done.
