How to Evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
By Jack O'Dwyer
We've put together a comprehensive guide to explain how trainers can evolve their Hisuain Qwilfish into an Overqwil in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Qwilfish was originally introduced as part of Generation II, making it native to the Johto region. In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, this previously single-form species has gained both a new regional variant and an evolution in the form of Overqwil—a larger, rounder Pokemon. All it cost was swapping its water-typing for dark-typing, making Hisuian Qwilfish a dark and poison-type.
Here's how to evolve Qwilfish into Overqwil.
How to Evolve Hisuian Qwilfish into Overqwil
Trainers can evolve their Hisuian Qwilfish into an Overqwil by having the Pokemon perform Barb Barrage in the Strong Style at least 20 times. After this, trainers should get a notification that the Pokemon is eligible for evolution.
Hisuian Qwilfish will learn Barb Barrage at level 15 and master it at level 25. Following mastery, trainers can direct it to perform the move in a Strong style, costing more PP but giving Barb Barrage more power behind it. It may, however, lower its speed in battle, potentially forcing it to lose a turn.
This Pokemon is also known as the "Balloon" Pokemon. Fishermen despise it due to its tendency to spray poison from its spines, "getting it everywhere." It is believed that the Johtonian regional variant also exists in the same time frame as Laventon mentions it in its PokeDex description. Its Hisuian PokeDex number is #084.
Overqwil, the "Pin Cluster" Pokemon, has been nicknamed the "sea fiend" by local fisherfolk and sailors. Its several lances allow it to cause massive damage to anything passing by--which we can guess, according to its "savage" temperament, isn't uncommon. It allegedly slurps up poison as a form of nourishment. Its Hisuian PokeDex number is #085.
