We've come up with a comprehensive guide to how trainers can evolve their Tangela into a Tangrowth in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Generation I's single-form grass-type, Tangela, received a brand new evolutionary form with the release of Generation IV. In the Sinnoh region, trainers who brought their Tangela along and kept one of its mid-level moves were greeted with quite the surprise after a few battles. Tangela was quickly replaced by its new form, Tangrowth, thanks to some extra leveling.
Here's how to evolve Tangela into Tangrowth in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Tangrowth shares its evolutionary method with Lickilicky. To evolve Tangela into Tangrowth, trainers need to level it up while the Pokemon knows the move "Ancient Power." No specific level is required to evolve.
Ancient Power is a special rock-type move typically known by archaic Pokemon that have either been alive for a long time or been brought back via fossils. It has 5 PP with 100% accuracy and 60 power. When used, it has a 10% chance of raising the caster's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by one stage.
Tangela learns Ancient Power at level 24.
Tangrowth is also known as the "Vine" Pokemon—likely due to the fact that its body is entirely made of them. It hunts by lying dormant and pretending to be part of the surrounding foliage. When prey wanders by, Tangrowth ensnares them in its vines. These vines also regenerate quickly and indefinitely if cut by predators. According to its PokeDex description, its vines grow so fervently during the warm season, that it becomes near impossible to see its eyes. Its PokeDex number is #465.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available now for the Nintendo Switch.
