Winterfest 2023 is officially underway, and fans can now get the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe for free in Fortnite.
Winterfest is the annual holiday celebration in Epic Games' Battle Royale. The update brought new weapons and items to the game, like Snowball Launchers and Snowy Floppers, to give gameplay a winter-themed flare. Players can also earn daily rewards simply by logging on, like the Winterfest Bushranger skin, throughout the entire event.
As always, there are also special quests in the limited-time event that offer even more prizes, including the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe. Here's how to get the new item for free in Fortnite.
How to Get Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe for Free in Fortnite
To get the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe for free in Fortnite, players must complete 19 Winterfest Quests. Unlike the other rewards in Winterfest 2023, the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe requires in-game effort to claim.
The Winterfest Quests range from hitting opponents with snowballs from the Snowball Launcher to dealing damage to opponents in the snow biome. There are also seperate Ship It! Express Quests in both Battle Royale and the LTM. Those who complete the Ship It! Express Snapshot will level up their Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass.
To find all the available quests, visit the in-game "Quests" tab and head to "Winterfest." Each completed quest also offers 15,000 XP.

The next Winterfest Quests are coming to Fortnite Winterfest 2023 on the following days throughout December:

Fortnite leaker, iFireMonkey, revealed the dates on X so fans know when to expect the next wave of in-game tasks. Epic games has not confirmed the schedule.
You will need to continue playing Winterfest throughout the month to complete enough quests to earn the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe. The Winterfest Quests will be available until the event ends on Jan. 2, 2024, at 9 a.m. ET.
