How to Open the Nornir Rune Chest in Aurvangar Wetland: God of War Ragnarök

Scattered around the many realms in God of War Ragnarök are Nornir Chests. Here's how to open up the rune chests in the Aurvangar Wetlands.

Nornir Chests are found all over the realms, containing valuable materials such as Idunn Apples or Horns of Blood Mead. These items will either increase Kratos' health or his Maximum Rage — both important gauges to max out for the many fights ahead.

But because these items are so valuable, cracking open the Nornir Chests requires more work. To unlock them, you'll need to find and break three runes, or Seals, located around the area near the chest. Here's how to find the runes and open the two Nornir Rune Chests in Aurvangar Wetlands.

How to Open the First Nornir Rune Chest in Aurvangar Wetlands

This Nornir Chest is one of the first that you'll come across on your journey, and it's a straightforward one to unlock. The three runes bear a resemblance to the letters 'F', 'B' and 'R'.

• Rune ‘F’ — Found just to the right of the chest. Simply destroy it with the Leviathan Axe.
• Rune ‘B’ — Can be seen in the distance, behind the chest.

• Rune ‘R’ — Behind Kratos and slightly to the left is a geyser. Freeze the geyser using the Leviathan Axe, and pull yourself up to the platform above it. There’s a dwarven artifact at the top. The rune is in front of the artifact, next to a tree.

With all runes destroyed, head back down to the chest. Open the it to receive an Idunn Apple.

How to Open the Second Nornir Rune Chest in Aurvangar Wetlands

For his chest, you'll need to turn the mechanisms until the correct rune is facing outwards. The runes bear a resemblance to the letters 'P', 'B' and 'H'.

• Rune P — Behind the geyser. Hit the mechanisms until the rune faces outwards. Freeze the geyser with the Leviathan Axe to get a better look.

• Rune B — Follow the path round until you reach the ledge. The rune is to the left. Hit it until the B faces outwards.

• Rune H — Up on the higher ledge to the left of the chest. 

Head back to the chest and open it to receive a Horn of Blood Mead.
