How to Open the Nornir Rune Chest in Temple of Light: God of War Ragnarök

Scattered around the many realms in God of War Ragnarök are Nornir Chests. Here's how to open up the rune chest in the Temple of Light.

Nornir Chests are found all over the realms, containing valuable materials such as Idunn Apples or Horns of Blood Mead. These items will either increase Kratos' health or his Maximum Rage — both important gauges to max out for the many fights ahead.

But because these items are so valuable, cracking open the Nornir Chests requires more work. To unlock them, you'll need to find and break three runes, or Seals, located around the area near the chest. Here's how to find the runes and open the Nornir Rune Chest in Temple of Light.

How to Open the Nornir Rune Chest in Temple of Light

After creating the first light bridge in the Temple of Light, the chest can be found to the right. This one is all about timing. You’ll need to quickly hit all three runes to open the chest. The runes for this puzzle bear a resemblance to the letters 'R', 'C' and 'N.'

• Rune ‘R’ — This rune is found immediately to the left of the chest. 

• Rune ‘C’ — Further to the left of the chest, opposite to where Tyr is looking. The 'C' rune is in the distance on a platform.

• Rune ‘N’ — This rune is covered by a Sound Stone. Atreus will need to destroy the stone, then you can throw the axe at the purple Twilight Stone to hit the rune from a distance. 

For the fastest order, stand just to the left of the ‘R’ rune. Hit the ‘C’ first, then the ‘R’, then quickly move to the top of the slope to hit the Twilight Stone, bouncing the axe off of it and destroying the ‘N’.

With all runes destroyed, head back down to the chest. Open it to receive a Horn of Blood Mead.
