How to Reach the Final Door in The Applecore: God of War Ragnarök
The search for Tyr in God of War Ragnarök leads Kratos and Atreus to The Applecore mine, but the final door is out of reach.
The Applecore, located in the realm of Svartalfheim, is a mine where Atreus believes Tyr the God of War is being held. The mine is full of many doors, each with its own dangers but none containing the lost Tyr.
The path leads Kratos and Atreus to one final door, and their last hope of finding Tyr. It sits on one side of a large, seemingly impassable gap. To reach the other side, players must complete a puzzle — but it's not as easy as it seems.
How to Reach the Final Door in The Applecore: God of War Ragnarök
First, head to the left and jump across the small gap. Give Atreus a boost up to the ledge. He’ll move to a crank on the other side of a large water wheel. There’s a second water wheel to his lower right, in front of a water chute. Use the Leviathan Axe to freeze the water just after the waterwheel, allowing the water to overflow and turn the wheel.
Tell Atreus to turn the crank, which will release large green Sound Stones. As the Axe has frozen the water, the stones will stop in place. They’ll also block the water in place of the frozen ice, meaning you can now safely remove the axe and the wheel should still turn.
Move over to the other water chute next to the large chain. Freeze it to overflow the water, turning the wheel, which will hoist the chain. This will present a point to swing from which you can use to get across to the platform.
Using Atreus, fire an arrow at the green Sound Stones blocking the water from before. This will stop the wheel from turning, causing the platform which Kratos is standing on to move to the other side, toward the door. You can now jump across to the door and open it.
