How to Romance Miranda in Mass Effect Legendary Edition
By Jack O'Dwyer
Commanders are eager to know how to get in good with Mass Effect 2 romantic interest, Miranda Lawson.
Miranda Lawson is a potential romantic interest for male Shepard—or both, thanks to mods. She appears in Mass Effect 2 and can make another appearance in Mass Effect 3 if she survives the events of the preceding game. Miranda is a gorgeous and incredibly powerful biotic and the result of heavy gene editing by her megalomaniac father. She was designed to be perfect. However, this proved to be a heavy burden for her to bear, and Miranda eventually fled to Cerberus for protection from him.
How to Romance Miranda
Miranda can only be romanced after the player completely her loyalty mission is completed and her sister is safely relocated. Following the assignment, Shepard can visit Miranda and speak to her regarding their romantic interests.
The conversation will quickly turn flirty with Miranda making a not so subtle pass at Shepard. If Shepard returns her feelings, the two can discuss a potential relationship, with the Commander either genuinely expressing their feelings for her or accusing her of being "jealous" of them. Whatever way the conversation goes, Shepard will have the opportunity to kiss Miranda, which she insists means nothing.
This culminates in Miranda accidentally running into Shepard on the CIC floor and inviting them to the engine room just before they head to the Omega 4 Relay.
Mass Effect 3
In Mass Effect 3, Miranda's life ends up in jeopardy thanks to her father and the Illusive Man. For the sake of spoilers, we'll just say that Shepard will have to take the following steps to keep her alive:
- Warn her about Kai Leng hunting her.
- Give her access to Alliance resources.
- Either defuse the situation with Oriana through dialogue or shoot Henry.
Securing Miranda's loyalty in Mass Effect 2 also counts toward her survival.
Shepard can choose to rekindle a romance with Miranda upon their first meeting on the Citadel. If she survives her encounter with Henry, she will invite the commander up to meet her in private there. The two will have an opportunity to spend some time together before the final battle.
Miranda also appears during the final confrontation with the Reapers and will be shown looking up at the stars should Shepard decide to destroy the Reapers and survives the Crucible blast.
