Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles is the latest 3D fighting game from CyberConnect2. Based on the anime adaption of the Demon Slayer manga series, the game follows the events of the first season and features exploration elements coupled with various boss battles.

As with most anime adaptations, the game features a whole host of characters that will need to be unlocked. Here's what you need to know.

How to Unlock All Characters in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles features 18 characters to unlock. The majority of characters can be unlocked through the natural progression of the game, whilst others can be unlocked through optional objectives and collectibles.

• Tanjiro: unlocked after completing the prologue
• Makomo: unlocked after completing the prologue
• Sakonji Urokodaki: unlocked after completing the prologue
• Sabito: unlocked after completing the prologue
• Nezuko Kamado: unlocked after completing chapter two
• Zenitsu Agatsuma: unlocked after completing chapter four
• Inosuke Hashibira: unlocked after completing chapter four
• Murata: unlocked after completing chapter five
• Giyu Tomioka: unlocked after completing chapter six
• Shinobu Kocho: unlocked after completing chaper seven
• Kyojuro Rengoku: unlocked after completing chapter eight
• Hinokami Tanjiro: unlocked after completing chapter eight

How to Unlock the Academy Alternatives in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles

There are six academy alternatives to unlock in addition to the story unlockable characters. These characters require some extra conditions in order to be unlocked:

• Academy Tanjiro: unlocked by viewing 40 memory fragments or using 4000 Kimetsu points
• Academy Nezuko: unlocked by viewing all 53 memory fragments or using 4000 Kimetsu points
• Academy Zenitsu: unlocked by completing 15 reward missions or using 4000 Kimetsu points
• Academy Inosuke: unlocked by completing 19 reward missions or using 4000 Kimetsu points
• Academy Giyu: unlocked by completing all seven special missions on normal or using 4000 Kimetsu points
• Academy Shinobu: unlocked by complete all seven special missions on hard or using 4000 Kimetsu points
