Is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance split screen?
Based on R. A. Salvatore's novel "The Legend of Drizzt," Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance invites players to a dangerous adventure in the Icewind Dale of Faerûn. Here's the breakdown of whether or not Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance has split-screen local multiplayer.
Is Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance Split Screen?
Despite being launched across an impressive plethora of platforms in PC, Xbox and PlayStation, it appears Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance does not split-screen local multiplayer... at least at launch.
Dark Alliance co-op is online-only at launch, meaning players won’t be able to slay hordes of enemies on the same couch as someone else from day one.
Fear not, however, as Tuque Games has already announced plans for a local co-op mode for Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance on their weekly Dev Stream back in May.
As it stands, it appears, the devs' goal is to have the mode ready for the first free DLC launch later this summer.
Leaving behind the central character sheets and math core pillars of D&D, Dark Alliance is a third-person action brawler that drops players and up to three other friends into the "unforgiving frozen hellscape" of Icewind Dale to take on iconic monsters and collect loot.
Dark Alliance lets players choose from four iconic heroes known as the Companions of the Hall—Drizzt, Catti-brie, Bruenor, and Wulfgar. Each comes with over 50 unique moves, special abilities, and team attacks. At the moment, it appears there is only one voice actor for Dark Alliance.
Although Wizards of the Coast describes the combat as "pick up and play," they also said it's intended to be difficult to master, with strategies and tactics emerging depending on the situation, skills, and monsters at hand.
Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance released Tuesday, June 22 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam for a base price of $39.99.
