Is There a New Map in Warzone?
Call of Duty players have been wondering if there is a new map in Warzone. The Season Two patch notes, which were posted on the Call of Duty blog, did not reveal a new map, but many rumors have been circulating in the Warzone community which claim that one will be released in the future.
A lot of the speculation emerged after the official Call of Duty Twitter account posted a tweet stating that "the end begins Feb. 25." Warzone players have been wondering what this could imply, and many believe that it points to a new map coming out in Season 3.
Is There a New Map in Warzone?
Although the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season Two patch notes did not reveal a new map,a post from VGC on Twitter claims that Warzone "will finally blow up its Verdansk map this season...making way for a Black Ops-themed revamp in April." The tweet refers to an article on the VGC website titled, "Call of Duty Warzone will finally blow up its Verdansk map this season", which puts together the pieces of the puzzle regarding the expected new Warzone map for Season 3.
According to Andy Robinson, the author of the VGC article, Activision plans on transitioning Warzone "from the Modern Warfare era, to a setting more in line with the most recent premium series release." Furthermore, Robinson states that "It’s likely that the nuclear warheads recently uncovered on Warzone’s map will be used to trigger the revamp."
With Season 3 arriving in April, the Warzone community must surely be hoping that Activision confirms the rumors. For now, players can enjoy Season 2, which introduces a variety of new updates to Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, such as new operators, weapons, and game modes. Season 2 is also accompanied by a new ban wave, which is sure to make players content, as they can expect a more fair competitive gaming experience.
