Is There a Shiny Lillipup in Pokémon GO?
You may have been out looking for Lillipup during its Spotlight Hours last Tuesday. Finding a Shiny would have been difficult, as Spotlight Hours do not make it easier to find a Shiny of the Spotlight Pokémon. On average, you'll run into a Shiny once every 450 encounters.
Shiny Pokémon don't appear on the map as Shiny, so if you want a Shiny Lillipup you'll have to engage each of them. Luckily, Lillipup isn't a particularly rare Pokémon. You'll know the Lillipup is Shiny when you see a sparkle by its name and model. Look for this sparkle symbol, as a Shiny Lillipup is only a few shades lighter than a normal one. It would be hard to tell by just appearances alone.
Lillipup's evolution Herdier is also difficult to spot as a Shiny, but when it becomes Stoutland the coloring becomes more distinct. Unfortunately, Stoutland doesn't put up much of a fight as a Pokémon. It's outclassed by other Normal types and doesn't have anything interesting to set it apart.
