Justin Fields Madden 22 Rating: What is it?
By Max Mallow
Justin Fields' Madden 22 rating is here as fans were excited to see what EA Sports made the rookie quarterback.
Fields was widely regarded as the second best quarterback prospect from this class alongside Trevor Lawrence. That was until the 2021 NFL Draft class approached and Fields' stock started to dwindle a bit. Zach Wilson shot up draft boards leading to him getting drafted second overall by the New York Jets.
Another quarterback ended going right after Wilson with the San Francisco 49ers taking Trey Lance. It was then a waiting game to see which team would either take Fields or trade up to pick him. It ended up being the latter with the Chicago Bears trading up to the 11th spot with the New York Giants to select Fields.
So, where does Fields come in for his first Madden appearance?
Justin Fields Madden 22 Rating: What is it?
Fields is rated 74 overall tied with Trey Lance for third-best among the first-round quarterbacks taken in the draft. Both of them are behind Trevor Lawrence, rated 78, and Zach Wilson at 75. Despite the four point overall difference, Fields boasts stellar speed and agility at 90 overall. He's also got 90 accuracy which is tied with Lance for the highest in that same group.
"Ohio State’s 2020 season was only eight games, but Fields posted an impressive 2019 14-game campaign both through the air and on the ground. He logged 41 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2019, and accounted for 78 total touchdowns over the last two seasons, most in the FBS. One of this summer’s burning questions surrounds how soon Fields will see the field for the Bears as the team added Andy Dalton this offseason, and he’s slated to start the season under center," EA Sports said.
If Fields develops into the starting role and as a top quarterback in the NFL, he's going to be dangerous in and out of the pocket.
