Guaranteed Sources for Korthite Crystals
Daily Quests
There are two daily quests twice a week that reward between one and two Korthite Crystals, depending on the daily quest.
Weekly Assaults
Each week, two assaults come up in The Maw that act as a longer form of content to do in 9.1, similar to the invasion of BFA's 8.3, but to a smaller scale, and only taking place in The Maw.
Two covenants will team up and fight against the forces in The Maw, you must complete four quests for this covenant duo, as well as a final quest. Upon completion of the fifth and final quest, you will be granted a War Chest, containing loot and a single Korthite Crystal.
Weekly Quest
While you are out doing all sorts of activities in Korthia and the greater Maw area, you must pick up the weekly quest titled "Shaping Fate." Shaping Fate requires you to do various activities throughout Korthia to fill a bar.
These activities are things like killing rares, killing general mobs, and looting chests. Slowly but surely you will fill this bar throughout the week. Handing in this quest once the bar is filled will grant you a Death's Advance War Chest, which contains a single Korthite Crystal. Additionally, you will get a nice chunk of Anima, some Stygia, and an Emblem of Renown.
Other Ways to Grab Korthite Crystals
Chests
As you explore the nooks and crannies of Korthia, you may see some chests scattered about. These chests may or may not give you one Korthite Crystal, but is certainly worth looting for a chance at nabbing one for little trouble. Unlike Runebound Coffers of past, you can loot these like any other chests, no strings attached.
