League of Legends Patch 11.9 Mid Lane Tier List
Another patch, another tier list! Thanks to a couple of changes made in this patch (which you can see here) some champions have gone down the tier list, others have gone up. Without further ado, the tier lists are the following:
S Tier
- Zed
- Katarina
- Yasuo
- Diana
- Ahri
With the assassin meta still being the go-to in the middle lane, currently, there are little to no changes in this tier. Any assassin, be it the ones named here or others with a similar kit like Yone, would be considered to be a top-tier pick. It is worth mentioning that while yes, Diana did receive a nerf recently, it is reminiscent of the changes made to Anivia a few patches ago. They will play a role in certain brackets like grandmaster plays, but in the long run, it is not enough to lower the tier in which the champion is. Anivia is still a strong pick, though statistically her win rate is decreasing and we might see her in the A-tier in upcoming patches.
A Tier
- Xerath
- Aurelion Sol
- Swain
- Morgana
- Cassiopeia
Crowd-control heavy mages are in the A-Tier, given that stuns can counter assassins when timed correctly. On top of that, Xerath received a buff in the percentage of ability power damage that his Q and W abilities can deal with. Analysts believe that this change was brought mainly due to the assassin meta, which made Xerath a weak pick due to the lack of mobility.
B Tier
- Vladimir
- Malphite
- Corki
- Swain
- Veigar
Vladimir has been going through changes (a previous buff increased his win rate dramatically, but a recent nerf may help balance that) and champions who can play in various lanes are also in this category.
C Tier
- Heimerdinger
- Syndra
- Azir
- Zoe
- Irelia
This category is composed mainly of champions who either recently, or in past patches, have received nerfs to the point that they are not viable when laning against either mages or assassins. However, the efficiency of a champion will always be determined by the mastery the player has over the champion. While this list may be based on statistics, tier lists, and the opinions of some analysts, it is not an absolute truth and you may play whoever you like in the middle lane!
