League of Legends recently leaked the biography and some of the lore for its new champion, Zeri. So far, it seems that Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, is a kinetic and electric AD Carry, whose release date is unknown at the time of writing. However, players have predicted that Zeri will be released with Patch 12.2.
Based on Zeri's universe page, which was uploaded on Jan. 4, 2022 and taken down shortly after, Zeri is from Zaun and has always had a unique relationship with electricity. According to her lore, magic ran through Zeri since birth, and her electric personality and powers affected people and power outages alike.
Some people loved Zeri while others considered her a nusiance. Zeri would tend to cause pretty major damage if she got too emotional. However, one incident would change her life, give her and her powers purpose and create a new champion in the League of Legends universe.
League of Legends Zeri Lore: What We Know So Far
One day, uncontrolled underground excavations funded by chem-barons caused an earthquake in Zaun. Zeri was walking around the markets when the earthquake hit. Without hesitation, Zeri zoomed past fallen buildings and began rescuing trapped victims.
She used her powers to help save as many people as possible, but there was only so much she could do. As a result, Zeri decided that she would stop the chem-barons so no one else's home could be destroyed like hers.
After this incident, Zeri became slightly more welcomed to her home as everyone was thankful for her help during the earthquake. She was given a rifle built by her mother that channels and uses her power as ammunition and now fights for those who cannot fight for themselves.
