Line in the Sand Destiny 2: Best Replacements for Linear Fusion Rifle
By Allan Zeng
Destiny 2's Line in the Sand powerful Linear Fusion Rifle is getting sunset next season, so what are the best replacements for it? Line in the Sand was one of the most desirable guns from last year's Season of Dawn, but unfortunately, it, and every other gun from Season of Dawn will become sunset and irrelevant next season. Players will have to find different guns to fill the void it will leave behind.
What to Look for in a Replacement
Assuming players are looking for a PVE replacement (because the Linear Fusion Rifle Meta in PVP is non-existent), they'll have to find a gun that is capable of dishing out high DPS from far away. Thus, the only possible replacements are Sniper Rifles and other Linear Fusion Rifles. Naturally, exotic weapons won't be included, because they're a different beast altogether. Here are the best choices.
Adored
How to Get:
Visit Banshee-44 in the tower to get a Crucible, Strike, or Gambit focused quest to earn adored.
Adored is a Solar Special Sniper Rifle that was introduced in Season of the Hunt as a pursuit weapon. The quest to earn the gun is reasonably lengthy, but the reward is worth it. Just like Line in the Sand, Adored is capable of dealing high DPS at a distance. Being a Special weapon, it frees up the power weapon slot, giving it an advantage over Line in the Sand. The perks to look for are Triple Tap and Vorpal Weapon, as the former increases DPS if you land precision hits, and the latter increases damage against bosses.
Corsair's Wrath
How to Get:
Upgrade Crow's Lure and then complete WrathBorn Hunts.
Corsair's Wrath is a Solar Power Linear Fusion Rifle that was introduced in Season of the Hunt as a reward weapon for the seasonal activity, Wrathborn Hunts. It's not quite as powerful as Line in the Sand, but being introduced this season, it won't be sunset until next year. The rolls you want to be looking for are Outlaw and High-Impact Reserves. The first perk makes you reload super quickly after a precision kill, increasing your DPS, and the second makes your gun do extra damage when its magazine is low.
Succession
How to Get:
Possible Drop from the Second Encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt Raid.
This gun is probably the hardest to obtain, and its even harder to grind for rolls, but it may very well be the best alternative. Succession, the Kinetic Sniper Rifle, is only obtainable in the second encounter of the Beyond Light Raid, the Deep Stone Crypt. The perk you absolutely must get on this gun is Reconstruction, which doubles Succession's magazine size. For the second perk, Vorpal Weapon is a good choice
So there you have it, these three guns are the best replacements for the soon to be sunset Line in the Sand. The new season for Destiny 2 is expected to arrive on Feb. 9.
