Madden NFL 23 99 Club: 5 Predictions
Madden 23 is set to release on August 19. The game's ratings reveal will begin on Monday, July 18, giving us a preview of the best players in the new game.
Each year, Madden fans look forward to the reveal of the prestigious 99 Club: the players with the joint highest rating in the game at 99 overall. There are many candidates that can reach that club this year. Here are our five predictions for 99 overalls in Madden 23.
5 Predictions for Madden NFL 23's 99 Club
1. Aaron Rodgers (QB, Green Bay Packers)
Aaron Rodgers won his fourth MVP in 2022, the most in NFL history. Despite not being able to lead his team to a Super Bowl, Rodgers proved even at his age that he can be the best Quarterback in the NFL. He wasn't featured in the 99 club in Madden 22, but it's hard to picture the 99 club in Madden 23 without the MVP.
2. Cooper Kupp (WR, Los Angeles Rams)
Cooper Kupp dominated the NFL in 2021, winning his first Super Bowl in 2022 with the Rams as well as the Super Bowl MVP. He was in contention for the MVP, ultimately winning the OPOTY award for the 21/22 season. He didn't hit 99 overall in Madden 22, but Kupp will undoubtedly start the new Madden year with a 99 rating.
3. Aaron Donald (DT, Los Angeles Rams)
While Kupp anchored the offense of the 2021 Super Bowl Champions, Aaron Donald anchored the unstoppable defense of the Rams. He was a 99 overall throughout Madden 22, and almost won his fourth DPOTY award this past season, if it weren't for a record-tying player we'll discuss later.
4. Patrick Mahomes (QB, Kansas City Chiefs)
Patrick Mahomes has become a staple of the 99-club over the past few seasons in Madden. The former cover star is one of the most popular players in the league, and one of the most talented QBs as well. In Madden, he's a popular choice for his ability to scramble as well as launch the ball deep and accurately downfield. Expect Mahomes to be in the 99-club once again in Madden 23, and one of the best players in the game.
5. TJ Watt (MLB, Pittsburgh Steelers)
TJ Watt featured in last year's 99 club for the first time, and in the 21/22 season, he dominated NFL offenses. Watt tied the NFL record for sacks in a single season held by Michael Strahan, and ultimately won the AP DPOY last season. While the Steelers weren't able to make a run in the post-season, their defensive anchor will continue to thrive both in the next NFL season and for Steelers fans in Madden 23, likely as one of the 99-rated players.
