Major Weapon Customization Feature Removed from Modern Warfare 3
With just one week until the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Sledgehammer Games confirmed the removal of a major weapon customization feature.
After a disappointing year of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the hype for Modern Warfare 3 grows with each passing day. Coming off two successful beta weekends and Campaign early access, Modern Warfare 3 promises a balanced combination of nostalgic maps and updated features to deliver what could be the best Call of Duty title in years.
With plenty of community feedback over the past year, Sledgehammer Games officially announced changes to Gunsmith and weapon customization in Modern Warfare 3.
Major Weapon Customization Feature Removed from Modern Warfare 3
Weapon Tuning, the best way to customize and improve your weapons in Modern Warfare 2, has been removed in Modern Warfare 3. Players will no longer be able to tune their attachments for better damage range, ADS speed, recoil, and more.
In a recent blog post, Activision announced, "Based on community feedback, Sledgehammer Games has removed the Weapon Tuning feature present in MWII and has made further improvements to make Gunsmith easier to use. This change to Weapon Tuning applies to both MWII and MWIII weapons that utilize modifications."
Now, any already-tuned weapons from Modern Warfare 2 will revert back to their original build in Modern Warfare 3. The removal of tuning both creates a more level playing field for all fans and makes customization a little more straightforward.
