December is almost over, so it's time to think about 2024 video game releases. 2024 looks like a good year for Mario fans, in particular. Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, another Luigi's Mansion remake, and the new Princess Peach game will be released then. Little Nightmares is also getting a sequel. You can learn more about each title below. Remember that some games don't have a release date or price yet.

Princess Peach: Showtime!

Of course, people are excited about Princess Peach: Showtime! It's the first game to feature the princess as a main protagonist since Super Princess Peach was released in 2005. She travels to The Sparkle Theater in this upcoming title, where the Grape and Sour Bunch cause trouble. It's up to Peach and Stella, the theater's guardian, to stop them with a ribbon that gives the princess unique abilities. Watch Peach take on roles, from a sword fighter to a pastry chef, in Princess Peach: Showtime!

An upcoming release that's a stark contrast from Princess Peach: Showtime! is Little Nightmares III. The latest addition to the franchise follows never-before-seen characters, Low and Alone, on their quest to escape the Nowhere. Face new enemies, places, and puzzles as both characters work together to stay alive. The trailer is terrifying, but you won't have to play alone. The developers added an online co-op feature to the franchise for the first time in Little Nightmares III!

Mario vs. Donkey Kong

Mario vs. Donkey Kong was initially released on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, but Nintendo is remaking the title for Nintendo Switch owners. The game focuses on Mario and Donkey Kong's rivalry, as the gorilla steals Mini-Mario toys. Help Mario take them back by solving puzzles with moving platforms, spikes, and bricks. You can also look forward to enhanced graphics and a new co-op mode.

Like Mario vs. Donkey Kong, The Thousand-Year Door is also a remake. The RPG was released in 2004 for the GameCube and is finally making a comeback on the Switch. The original title shows Mario traveling to Rogueport to meet Peach after she finds a treasure map. When the princess gets kidnapped by an organization called X-Nauts, Mario must search for seven Crystal Stars to rescue her. We don't know much about what's new in the title, besides improved graphics. Nintendo will probably announce more details soon.

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

The last entry on the list is a remake, too. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is a remastered version of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, released in 2013. In it, the once-friendly ghosts of Evershade Valley turn hostile after the Dark Moon shatters. Luigi must solve puzzles, capture spirits, and collect all Dark Moon shards to restore peace. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will have an online and local co-op mode via the ScareScraper, where players face different challenges.
