By Jack O'Dwyer
Fans have been passing around images and information of new Pokemon forms in accordance with the set of Pokemon Legends: Arceus boxed copies being found and sold.
These copies originated from a seller based in New Jersey on eBay and were sold for $75 with overnight shipping to around 10 lucky players. As such, images and information have found their way onto the internet where fans have been picking them apart.
All this has been revealed only nine days before the game was set to go live.
Be warned that there will be leaks beyond this point. Read on and click links at your own risk.
Controversial New Pokemon Legends: Arceus Forms Flood Social Media
By far, the two sets of Pokemon bearing the brunt of the jokes are the Hisuian starters' final forms and the new Dialga and Palkia.
Reactions to the starters have been mixed at best with most of the ire being directed at poor Hisuian Typhlosion. This final evolution has been compared to several stereotypes, including:
- A guest appearance at the "When We Were Young" music festival
- Someone who partakes in the Devil's Lettuce
- The guy who asks "Where's my hug?" when you met him about 15 minutes ago
- An ugly hamster
Hisuian Decidueye has received a bit of flack. The worst of this has been the repost of an image of an owl lying face down on the ground—which, we have to admit, does bear an uncanny resemblance. Otherwise, the design has been taken in stride with praise for its clear Asian Samurai-era roots and "leggy" structure.
Samurott's design appears to be the most readily accepted of the three.
While the horse girl in me has a certain affection for the new Dialga and Palkia, other Pokemon fans seem to have a different idea. Although, the design direction is clear as the two are obviously meant to echo Arceus.
Fans have also had a problem with the reveal of Goodra's second form, with one stating they "did goodra dirty."
