New World Update 1.0.4 Revealed
By Jakob Lucas
When Amazon Games released New World, they may not have expected the surge of players they received. Nevertheless, the game’s player base has continued to grow quickly since launch.
Like any new game with a lot of players, many small bugs and issues are being discovered leading to continual updates. On Wednesday, Oct. 27, Amazon Games released New World update 1.04. Here’s everything players should know:
New World Update 1.0.4 Revealed
One of the big changes in New World's most recent update is the re-enabling of both Outpost Rush and server transfers. Additionally, the Everfall starting beach location was removed to narrow the number of locations and heighten the likelihood that new players and friends can start together.
In an effort to prevent players from accidentally abandoning their houses, a confirmation step was added to the process. Speaking of housing, first house discounts will reduce purchase price but not taxes on houses, addressing a previous UI error that indicated taxes would be reduced. Any player that purchased a house before this fix will receive 2,000 coins as compensation.
Update 1.0.4 will also amend an issue from 1.0.3 that caused companies to lose coin revenue if they owned multiple territories or failed War declarations. Though there are a couple of exceptions to this reimbursement: the revenue reimbursement will not exceed the company's treasury caps and no revenue will be returned to a company that has since been abandoned.
Faction token cap was increased by 50% for each Faction tier, allowing players to earn more tokens and save up for increasing their Faction Rank. The new token caps are listed below:
- Tier 1: Previously 5,000 tokens, now increased to 7,500
- Tier 2: Previously 10,000 tokens, now increased to 15,000
- Tier 3: Previously 15,000 tokens, now increased to 22,500
- Tier 4: Previously 25,000 tokens, now increased to 37,500
- Tier 5: Previously 50,000 tokens, now increased to 75,000
There were also a few major bug fixes released in the update including a fix to several uncommon, but annoying, server crash issues. Another big fix arrived, mending an issue where some enemies in the Amrine Excavation were invulnerable. The Ice Pylon no longer has the possibility to stay on an infinite cooldown. Finally, another major fix came to the issue that prevented players from completing select game actions after they fast traveled.
