Ninja Calls for Fortnite Nerf on PC Controller Aim Assist
Popular Fortnite streamer Tyler "Ninja" Blevins has called out Epic Games yet again, this time complaining that the aim assist for controller players on PC is too overpowered. This has resulted in an extreme disadvantage for mouse and keyboard players, who do not have the same benefits of aim assist, Ninja said in a Twitter video Sunday.
Fortnite players across the globe have been moving to controller from mouse and keyboard on PC, in large part because of the advantage that aim assist provides. Professional and casual mouse and keyboard players alike have been calling for a nerf to controller aim assist, but Epic Games has yet to change anything.
This past weekend seems to have been the last straw for Ninja, who took to Twitter after controller players again dominated the Fortnite Championship Series Invitational. Ninja explained that he doesn't blame controller players for taking advantage of the aim assist, but that something needs to change.
Ninja Calls for Fortnite Nerf on PC Controller Aim Assist
"Controller aim assist is performing way better than it does on Xbox and PlayStation," Ninja, a mouse and keyboard player, said. "People have to be vocal about it especially the players that are using it."
A second major point of Ninja's video was that the change needs to be initiated by professional players who use controller for PC. Without them recognizing their advantage and leading the calls for change, it is unlikely that Epic Games will nerf the aim assist.
"I can't do anything. I don't use it," Ninja said. "It's going to be up to credible, top, competitive controller players who have a huge influence to reach out to Epic and be vocal about it and be honest about it if we, as a unit, want it to be more balanced."
Whether or not aim assist is nerfed, there will be plenty of changes coming to Fortnite with the launch of Season 3 on June 4.
