People Can Fly will release a demo for its forthcoming third-person shooter Outriders, but players will have to wait a little longer before the game goes live — the game will now be released April 1, several months after its original holiday 2020 release window.

People Can Fly plans to drop the free demo Feb. 25. It will include the first few hours of the game, and players will be able to play as all four of the game's classes in both single-player and co-op. Progress made in the demo will transfer to the full game once it goes live.

Outriders Demo and Delay Announced

"We believe it's important that players get to experience a new IP like Outriders before release, so that you can decide for yourselves whether the game is something you wish to pre-order, purchase or play," People Can Fly wrote in its Wednesday announcement.

"Thanks for hanging tight a little longer — we appreciate your patience!"

DBLTAP spoke to some Outriders developers at PAX 2020. The game, published by Square Enix, will hit PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Steam.
