Overwatch 2 Events Calendar 2023

Overwatch 2 prides itself on its yearly events, and the changes these events bring are some that players look forward to the most. Historically, Blizzard has been pretty consistent about what events happen when, so here's what we can expect from Overwatch 2 this year given the track record of previous years.

Overwatch 2 has a stable of yearly events that occur generally around the same time each year, though occasionally Blizzard likes to mix it up. For example, this year brought the Battle for Olympus event, which had never been done before in Overwatch history. It's unknown whether these new events will become regular additions to the game, but it's reasonable to assume Blizzard may have a few tricks up its sleeve.

Based on previous Overwatch calendars, here's a probable event schedule for Overwatch this year:

1. Lunar New Year

Overwatch 2's Lunar New Year event is happening right now. it'll run until the beginning of February. This year is the Year of the Rabbit.

2. Archives

Archives is a popular event that adds to Overwatch's expansive lore. Players will be able to play PvE missions and earn cosmetics inspired by Overwatch's past. Expect Archives to arrive around mid-April and last into early May.

3. Anniversary

Anniversary celebrates the launch of the original Overwatch. Usually all cosmetics are available to purchase during this event, which will likely last from late May to early June.

4. Summer Games

Have some fun in the sun with Overwatch's Summer Games event! Usually running in the month of August, Summer Games brings casual, sporty skins and the unique mode Lucioball.

5. Halloween Terror

Overwatch gets spooky with the Halloween Terror event. Play the fan-favorite Junkenstein events and earn scary skins. Some maps, like Hollywood, are also likely to get frightful makeovers this October.

6. Winter Wonderland

Celebrate the winter holidays at the close of the year during the Winter Wonderland event. Mei Yeti Hunt and other fun events will be available from late December of this year into early January of 2024.
