Overwatch League Announces 2022 Community Co-Streaming Guidelines
With the start of its fifth season just a couple of weeks away, the Overwatch League (OWL) has announced its pilot community co-streaming program guidelines for 2022.
For creators looking to bring the 5v5 action to their communities on the select match days that will feature community co-streaming, here's a breakdown of the Overwatch League's 2022 community co-streaming guidelines.
Here is an overview of the official Overwatch League co-streaming guidelines for 2022:
- All co-streamers must be of legal adult age in their country of residence (18 years in most countries)
- Co-streaming takes place on YouTube
- Overwatch League sponsors or sponsored segments may not be altered, covered or cut away from
- Co-streamers may not run ads during the broadcast
- Co-streamers may have stream sponsors as long as they do not conflict with Overwatch League sponsors
- Co-streamers must be willing to share select viewership data with the Overwatch League upon request
- Co-streams will be monitored by the Overwatch League to ensure all guidelines are upheld, including maintaining a positive environment and moderated chat
- The Overwatch League reserves the right to remove co-streamers from the program at any time
Creators and streamers interested in participating in the co-streaming program should fill out the league's official 2022 co-streaming application Google Form, which can also be found on their official website.
Co-streaming applications for the OWL 2022 Opening Weekend are open now and will run through Wednesday, April 27, at 2 p.m. ET.
Marking the start of the fifth year of the league, the Overwatch League 2022 Season will kick off on May 5, with Los Angeles Gladiators vs. New York Excelsior at 3 p.m. ET.
Those simply looking to catch the action live can do so through the league's usual avenue of streaming: the Overwatch League YouTube channel.
OWL 2022 Opening Weekend Thursday (May 5)
- 3 p.m. ET: Los Angeles Gladiators vs. New York Excelsior
- 4:30 p.m. ET: Paris Eternal vs. San Francisco Shock
- 6 p.m. ET: Atlanta Reign vs. Florida Mayhem
