Overwatch Lunar New Year: 5 Things Fans Want
The ending of Winter Wonderland 2020 event, the Overwatch community is ready to celebrate the next seasonal event on the calendar: Lunar New Year. 2021 would be the fifth year that Lunar New Year is celebrated in Overwatch since the inception of the event in 2017. Here are some of the things the fans would want to see:

1. Lunar New Year Skins and Loot Box Items
There are currently more than 200 Lunar Year items which comprise of skins, emotes, victory poses, voice lines, sprays, highlight intros, and player icons. During the event, special Loot Boxes will replace the normal Loot Boxes. The items inside are purchasable at a cost of three times the normal price of items of the same rarity. Judging from the unique themed design, players would love to collect more of these event items.
2. Lunar New Year Weekly Challenges
Completing challenges, usually unique a hero for each week, will grant players unique items that are exclusive to the Lunar New Year event. Items along with the achievements which were not obtained during the event remain unavailable after the event ends.
3. Lunar New Year Brawls
Just like Overwatch Freezethaw Elimination is the Brawl for Winter Wonderland, Lunar New Year also has its own Brawls. Previously, we had Capture the Rooster, Capture the Dog, and Capture the Flag Blitz. This year, we may wish for Capture the Ox. In this mode, both teams have a flag near their spawn room that the other team must capture. A player can pick up the other team's flag after a short capture time, and their team gains a point if it is taken to their team's flag spot. However, the flag will be dropped if the player is killed, and can be returned to its start if the other team captures it back.
4. Lijiang Tower Map Reskin
Map reskin is one of the highlights in Overwatch seasonal events. Not only that it is beautiful to watch, but also the easter eggs and interactions it offers to the community. As for Lunar New Year, Lijiang Tower is the lucky map to get a reskin full of lanterns and festive red color, further adding to the holiday festive.
5. Pachimari Paper Lanterns
Previously Blizzard Entertainment released a set of pachimari paper lanterns. Players can select the design they desire and print it before assembling it to a paper lantern. Traditionally, lanterns hung at Chinese New Year are thought to scare aware the Nian monster and bring good luck.
