Overwatch Remaster: Everything You Need to Know
By Jack O'Dwyer
Overwatch Remaster is the highlight of Blizzard-related news day following the announcement of a massive incoming patch. The patch, v1.41, is now live on the Public Test Realm and includes changes to the game at an unprecedented amount. Multiple buffs and nerfs have been implemented to various heroes as well as additional tweaks to how abilities work in-game. This patch has the capability to shatter the meta as we know it.
Here's everything you need to know about the Overwatch Remaster.
Overwatch Remaster: Everything You Need to Know
The most important thing in this patch is the end of the Sigma and Moira supremacy. While most of us likely expected Sigma would face nerfs somewhere after his release, the concept is still painful to Sigma mains everywhere.
Sigma's Kinetic Grasp no longer blocks Chain Whips or Hook Shots, meaning he can be grabbed despite the abilities he decides to put up. His Experimental Barrier's health regeneration has been reduced to 150 per second rather than 175 and now includes a one second cooldown when recalled. Additionally, the duration of his high gravity effect from Gravitic Flux is now reduced from 1.2 to 0.9 seconds.
Symmetra has also seen an intense nerf the two most important abilities in her kit. Her Photon Barrier now only lasts 12 seconds as opposed to the previous 15 and has 4000 health instead of the original 5000. In addition, her Sentry Turrets will only deal 40 damage instead of 50.
In that same vein, Orisa's barrier now takes ten seconds to cooldown instead of nine.
Mercy's Valkyrie beam can now heal through barriers, which has the potential to challenge Moira for her spot as one of the top supports. On top of this, Moira's self-heal was also reduced from 30 to 20 points per second.
D.va is getting a buff to her Defense Matrix. Its regeneration rate has increased from 12.5% to 16% per second and the delay before regeneration begins is now 0.75 seconds rather than the full second.
Other highlights include a change to Sombra's Translocator, buffs to Winston and Lucio, and additional nerfs to Baptiste and Doomfist.
