By Blake Toman
Overwatch getting stuck on entering the game is extremely frustrating.
Battle.net issues can be some of the most frustrating problems casual and experienced Overwatch players face, but getting stuck on the "Entering Game" stage of login takes the cake as one of the most annoying issues. Here's how you can fix the Overwatch stuck on entering game error.
Overwatch Stuck on Entering Game: How to Fix
1. Scan and Repair Overwatch
Whenever you face a problem with a Blizzard game, the first step to resolving the problem is to scan and repair the game. You can do this by opening the Blizzard Battle.net destop application and clicking the Overwatch icon. Then, click the Options button below the title of the game and select Scan and Repair.
Click begin scan and the game will scan the game for issues and repair them. Once the repair has completed, try opening Overwatch again to see if the repair resolved the issue.
2. Reinstall Overwatch
In any game, persisent issues like the entering game error may require you to uninstall and reinstall Overwatch. Like the Scan and Repair option, the Uninstall option can be found in a drop down list by clicking in the Options button below the title of the game.
Once the game is uninstalled, initiate the installation as you did when you first installed the game. If this does not fix the issue, then there may be a few other options.
3. Use a VPN to Open Overwatch
When this issue appeared on Jan. 15, one of the main solutions offered at the time was for players to use a VPN to work around some of the Wave connection issues players were facing.
But be careful. Check to see if using a VPN is legal in your country before downloading one and attempting to use it, since it is not legal in all countries. In the United States, it is legal to use a VPN.
4. Login Manually to Overwatch
If you're still having trouble, attempt to login manually by going to your files and luanching the executable file overwatch.exe. When players encountered this issue on Jan. 16, 2020, this was one of the solutions that allowed players to circumvent the issue.
If the problem persists, consider running a WinMTR test and contact Blizzard support with the results. They'll be able to more clearly identify the nature of the problem and work with you to find a solution.
