Pale Serpent Widowmaker Skin Revealed for Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021
Blizzard has revealed the Pale Serpent Widowmaker skin for the 2021 Overwatch Lunar New Year event.
The seasonal Overwatch event occurs every year and seeks to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which marks the beginning of a calendar-based around cycles of the moon. This year marks the Year of the Ox. It is the fifth time that the event has occurred in Overwatch history.
The past Lunar New Year events include:
- Year of the Rooster - 2017
- Year of the Dog - 2018
- Year of the Pig - 2019
- Year of the Rat - 2020

Pale Serpent Widowmaker Skin Revealed for Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021
Similar to other Overwatch seasonal events, the Lunar New Year events include a variety of cosmetics that players can unlock.
The Pale Serpent Widowmaker skin reveal showcases Widowmaker with a serpent-like outfit and weapon. The skin seems to be inspired by the Year of the Snake, which occurs every 12 years and is the sixth in the cycle of the Chinese zodiac signs. Widowmaker previously received the Black Lily skin In the 2018 Overwatch Lunar New Year event.
Blizzard has also revealed the Kkachi Echo, Tiger Huntress Ashe, Bull-Demon Orisa, and Dragonfire Bastion skins ahead of the event.
Overwatch Lunar New Year 2021, the Year of the Ox, runs Feb. 4-25.
