Pokémon GO Arlo February 2023: How to Beat
Arlo, a Team Rocket GO Boss, is back to battle Pokémon GO players with an (almost) entirely new team of Pokémon this February. Beating a Team Rocket GO boss gives players the opportunity to catch one of their Shadow Pokémon, or "purify" their Shadow Pokémon to get the normal form of that Pokémon with a boost to their CP.
While fighting Arlo, the fight will always begin with Shadow Nidoran, and from there, Arlo will send out two of six potential Pokémon.
Below, there will be a list of Arlo's Pokémon that will be used in the fight, as well as some Pokémon that can be used in the fight to counter each of them. Included will be those Pokémon's Charged and Fast moves to aid players best in the battle.
Pokémon GO Arlo February 2023: How to Beat
First Pokémon: Nidoran
Nidoran is a pure Poison-type Pokémon with a weakness to Psychic- and Ground-types specifically.
- Exeggutor - Confusion (Fast) and Psychic (Charged)
- Alakazam - Psycho Cut (Fast) and Psystrike (Charged)
- Exacadrill - Mud Shot (Fast) and Drill Run (Charged)
Second Pokémon: Cradily, Crobat, or Steelix
For the second round, Arlo will send out one of three Pokémon. Cradily, a dual Rock- and Grass-type Pokémon, and Steelix, a Steel- and Ground-type, are both weak to Fire- and Fighting- type Pokémon, while Crobat is a Poison- and Flying-type Pokémon, so players should mainly focus on their Psychic-type Pokémon primarily.
- Cradily Counter: Lucario - Bullet Punch (Fast) and Aura Sphere (Charged)
- Crobat Counter: Espeon - Zen Headbutt (Fast) and Psychic (Charged)
- Steelix Counter: Darmanitan - Fire Fang (Fast) and Overheat (Charged)
Final Pokémon: Armaldo, Charizard, or Scizor
For the final leg of the battle, Arlo will either send out an Armaldo, a Rock- and Bug-type Pokémon, Charizard, a Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon, or Scizor, a Bug- and Steel-type Pokémon. Luckily, Armaldo and Charizard can easily be dealt with using Rock-type moves, but Scizor can be handed better using Fire-type moves.
- Armaldo Counter: Rampardos - Smack Down (Fast) and Rock Slide (Charged)
- Charizard Counter: Rhyperior - Smack Down (Fast) and Rock Wrecker (Charged)
- Scizor Counter: Blaziken - Fire Spin (Fast) and Blast Burn (Charged)
