Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Announced

Niantic Labs has announced details surrounding the next competitive GO Battle season: Season 10.
Player versus Player (PvP) trainers, rejoice! The newest Pokemon GO Battle season has been revealed with a new set of cups, rewards, and Pokemon encounters.
Pokemon GO Battle Season 10 Details
Season 10 will kick off on Nov. 29 at 1 p.m. PT (4 p.m. ET). As usual, end of season events for Season 9 will be available on the battle screen and trainers’ ranks will be reset. Trainers who reach Legend rank this season will be eligible for early-registration for the Pokemon GO World Championship.
Additionally, trainers will be able to benefit from the following buffs:
- Rank up requirements will remain the same as they were in Season 9.
- Pokemon functioning as reward encounters will be easier to catch.
From the looks of the news post, Season 10 will end in late February or early March.
Pokemon GO Battle Season 10 Battle Days
Battle Days in Season 10 will take place from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on:
- Saturday, Jan. 8
- Sunday, Jan. 23
- Sunday, Feb. 6
During this time, the number of match sets trainers can play will be increased to 20 for a daily total of 100. Win rewards include four times the Stardust.
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Leagues
As with any other season, Season 10 will feature its own set of Leagues from Great to Master. These will span accordingly:
- Great League: Nov. 29–Dec. 13, Jan. 10–24, Feb. 21–28
- Great League Remix: Nov. 29–Dec. 13
- Ultra League: Dec. 13–27, Jan. 24–Feb. 7, Feb. 21–28
- Ultra League Remix: Dec. 13–27
- Ultra League Premier Classic: Jan. 24–Feb. 7
- Master League: Dec. 27–Jan. 10, Feb. 7-21, Feb. 21–28
- Master League Classic: Dec. 27–Jan. 10
- Master League Premier Classic: Feb. 7–21
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Cups
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 has its own collection of cups for trainers to enter, as well. These are:
- Holiday Cup: Dec. 16–31
- Sinnoh Cup: Jan. 10–24
- Love Cup: Feb. 7–21
- Johto Cup: Feb. 21–28
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Encounter Rewards
The following Pokemon are guaranteed rewards for ranking-up in Season 10:
- Rank 1: Pyroar
- Rank 6: Mienfoo
- Veteran: Noibat
- Expert: (Shiny) Deino
- Legend: (Shiny) Pikachu Libre
These Pokemon unlock at Rank 1 or above:
- (Shiny) Spinarak
- (Shiny) Chinchou
- Bayleef
- Quilava
- Croconaw
- Azumarill
Meinfoo unlocks at Rank 6 or above:
The next set unlock at Rank 11 or above:
- (Shiny) Shieldon
- Noctowl
- Forretress
- Skuntank
- Frillish
These unlock at Rank 16 or above:
- (Shiny) Larvitar
- (Shiny) Rufflet
- Scraggy
Trainers can encounter a five-star Raid boss starting at Rank 20.
Noibat will appear with a shiny chance starting at Veteran rank.
Deino will appear starting with a chance to be shiny at Expert rank.
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Avatar Rewards
Pikachu Libre items will begin to drop at Rank 3.
Items related to Lysandre, Leader of Team Flare from Pokemon X and Y, will drop according to the following ranks:
- Ace rank: Lysandre-Style Gloves
- Veteran rank: Lysandre-Style Shoes
- Expert rank: Lysandre-Style Pants
- Legend rank: Lysandre-Style Jacket and Lysandre Pose
Trainers who reach Rank 19 will receive an Elite Charged TM upon rank and an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season addition.
Pokémon GO Battle Season 10 Attack and Availability Changes
Rock Tomb guaranteed to lower the opposing Pokémon’s attack in trainer battles.
Pound has been nerfed from five damage to four.
Bug Buzz has been buffed on all fronts from 90 damage to 100 damage to increase the DPS output of Vespiquen, Wormadam, and Yanmega.
The following Pokemon can now learn Rock Tomb:
- Magcargo
- Sudowoodo
- Lairon
- Aggron
- Claydol
Octillery can learn Lock-on.
Magcargo can learn Incinerate.
Donphan can learn Body Slam.
Noctowl can learn Shadow Ball.
