Pokémon GO December Community Day: Everything You Need to Know
By Ryan Borja
Niantic decided to go all out for their Pokémon GO December Community Day. In order to celebrate the game's journey throughout 2019, the company has decided to divert from the typical three hour formula and single day event formula to make this this Community Day one to remember.
Here is everything you need to know about Pokémon GO's December Community Day.
Pokémon GO December Community Day: Everything You Need to Know
December's Community Day will take place over two days from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. according to the players timezone. During this time, players will be able to encounter certain Pokémon more frequently in the wild.
The featured Pokémon for December's Community Day will be... all of them. Niantic has decided to bring back all the Pokémon featured in previous Community Days in 2019. This includes:
- Totodile
- Swinub
- Treecko
- Torchic
- Mudkip
- Ralts
- Slakoth
- Trapinch
- Bagon
- Turtwig
- Chimchar
Pokémon caught during the event can learn their special moves that were exclusive to their Community Day if they evolve the Pokémon to their final form before the end of the event. This gives players another chance to acquire Pokémon with these moves if they missed out on them in events earlier in the year.
Pokémon from 2018 Community Days will also be featured in raids while the event is active. This list includes:
- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Pikachu
- Eevee
- Dratini
- Chikorita
- Cyndaquil
- Mareep
- Larvitar
- Beldum
A bonus period will also be available during the two days of the event, between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. During this period, players will receive 2x Catch Stardust, 2x Catch XP, and egg hatch distance is halved.
If players can't wait for December's Community Day to get into the action, there are still plenty of events lined up for the end of November. Supereffective Week is active until Nov. 26, where Pokémon supereffective against Team Rocket have increased encounter rates and will be featured in raids. The Legendary Rock/Fighting duo-type Terrakion will also make its Pokémon GO debut on Nov. 26.
