Pokémon GO Halloween Event 2021: Everything You Need to Know

The Pokemon GO Halloween annual event is here and is both bigger and “badder” than ever before.
This year, the Pokemon GO Halloween event will be held during the latter half of the month and feature two separate parts. Below, we’ve broken those parts up for trainer convenience.
Pokémon GO Halloween Part 1 Explained
The first part of the event is called “Creepy Companions” and will run from Oct. 15 through to Oct. 22.
During this time, Galarian Slowking and shiny Spinarak will be making their Pokemon GO debut. Additionally, trainers will be able to pick up the next segment in Hoopa’s unique research story: Misunderstood Mischief.
Trainers can evolve their Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking by catching 30 psychic-types with that Slowpoke as their Buddy.
The following Pokémon will be appearing in the wild:
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Pikachu
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Piplup
- (Shiny) Zubat
- (Shiny) Gastly
- (Shiny) Drowzee
- (Shiny) Spinarak
- (Shiny) Misdrevous
- (Shiny) Shuppet
- (Shiny) Woobat
- (Shiny) Yamask
- Gothita
- Stunky
The following Pokemon will be available to encounter via Research rewards:
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Pikachu
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Piplup
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Drifblim

7 k.m. Eggs will now offer the chance to hatch (shiny) Spinarak, (shiny) Shuppet, (shiny) Misdrevous, Chingling, Litwick, Galarian Yamask, and Golett with the latter two being more rare.
Pokémon GO Halloween Raids 2021 Part 1
One-star raids will feature:
- Galarian Slowpoke
- Scraggy
- Espurr
- (Shiny) Murkrow
- (Shiny) Yamask
Three-star raids will now have:
- (Shiny) Alolan Raichu
- (Shiny) Sableye
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Drifblim
- Banette
Altered Forme Giratina will join the five-star Raid pool.
Mega Gengar will join the mega Raid pool.
Pokémon GO Halloween Part 2 Explained
The second part of the event, “Ghoulish Pals” will pick up directly after part one and run through Oct. 31.
Phantump, Trevenant, Pumpkaboo, and Gourgeist will be debuting in Pokemon GO alongside a new segement of Hoopa’s research story and a brand new size mechanic that will alter a Pokemon’s display size accordingly. It is currently unclear whether this mechanic will specifically effect Pumpkaboo or be spread to other Pokemon going forward.
A collection challenge will be available for trainers to try and collect all the various sizes of Pumpkaboo.

Pokémon GO Halloween Raids 2021 Part 1
The following Pokemon will be joining the one-star Raid pool:
- (Shiny) Murkrow
- (Shiny) Yamask
- Phantump
- Galarian Yamask
- Pumpkaboo (Average)
Three-star Raids will now feature
- (ShIny) Alolan Marowak
- (Shiny) Halloween Mischief Drifblim
- Lampent
- Banette
Darkrai will be appearing in five-star Raids with a chance to be shiny. Darkrai caught during this time will know the charged move Sludge Bomb.
Mega Absol will appear in mega Raids with a shiny chance, as well.
A special Raid Weekend event will run from Oct. 30-31 at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., local time. To celebrate the debut of Mega Absol, both it and Darkrai will appear more frequently as Raid bosses.
