Pokemon GO's next Spotlight Hour will feature Bunnelby, the burrowing rabbit Pokemon from the Kalos region.

As always, this feature will take place on Tuesday between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., local time. Trainers who participate will receive double the experience upon evolution.

Below, we've included everything trainers need to know about Pokemon GO Spotlight Hour on April 12, 2022.

Can Bunnelby be Shiny in Pokemon GO?

Yes, Bunnelby can be shiny in Pokemon GO. This Pokemon debuted in early December 2020 and its shiny palette has been available since last year's Spring into Spring event.

Shiny Bunnelby is extraordinarily easy to tell apart from its typical encounters. Instead of a dusty brown base with walnut-brown accents, its base color is a dark stone gray with lighter gray accents. Its inner ears turn from pink to orange and its eyes gain a slightly maroon hue.

Shiny Diggersby follows suit as primarily light gray with off-white accents and patch of that same walnut-brown fluff in the center of its stomach.

Best Stats/IV for Bunnelby in Pokemon GO

Bunnelby has the following stats:

  • Maximum CP: 625
  • Maximum HP: 110
  • Attack: 68
  • Defense: 72
  • Stamina: 116

Trainers can track Bunnelby's IV by comparing its CP total to the maximum CP it can have at each level. For reader convenience, we've collected these measures and relayed them below in 10-level increments:

  • Level 1: 7
  • Level 10: 158
  • Level 20: 316
  • Level 30: 474
  • Level 40: 553
  • Level 50: 625

Trainers can evolve their Bunnelby into a Diggersby using 50 candies.

Best Moveset for Diggersby in Pokemon GO

Diggersby is a normal and ground-type with a weakness to fighting, water, grass, and ice-types and strength against rock and poison-types, with double resistance to ghost and electric-types.

This Pokemon's best moveset includes the quick move Quick Attack and the charged moves Hyper Beam or Dig. All of these moves benefit from the 20% damage buff due to the Same-Type Attack Bonus (STAB) condition.

There are two moves in Diggersby's quick move pool: Quick Attack and Mud Shot. Quick Attack wins out overall, doing better DPS and generating more energy than Mud Shot — 12 damage per second (DPS) and 13 energy per second (EPS) versus Mud Shot's 10 DPS to 12 EPS.

Diggersby's charged move choice is a bit more complicated and depends on where this Pokemon fits in a trainer's mind. We've broken this down below:

  • Hyper Beam — best for PvE, including Raids and gym conquests due to its position has the highest DPS output for the lowest energy cost.
  • Dig — best for PvP due to its low energy cost and ability to be spammed in trainer battles.

Is Diggersby Good in Pokemon GO?

Diggersby has the following stats:

  • Maximum CP: 1706
  • Maximum HP: 178
  • Attack: 112
  • Defense: 155
  • Stamina: 198

Diggersby has a decent niche in the Great League as one of the more spammy ground-type attackers. Its ability to swiftly convert generated energy into charged casts of Dig can easily wear down an opponent's shields and lead the way to a quick victory — depending on the rest of the team, anyway.

However, Azumarill serves as a powerful foil to this Pokemon so trainers should be ready with a counter choice or some kind.
