It's no secret that in his off time, American rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Post Malone is a big fan of Apex Legends.

Post Malone's love for video games has only become a bigger part of his image over the past few years. In 2020, he became a part owner of esports organization Team Envy. Last year, Post Malone not only released a cover of Hootie and the Blowfish's "Only Wanna Be With You" for Pokemon's 25th Anniversary, but also performed a virtual concert to celebrate Pokémon Day 2021.

At the heart of Post Malone's gaming interest, however, has to be Apex Legends. On June 9, the Full Send Podcast released its interview with Post Malone, in which the music star explained his appreciation for the Respawn Entertainment-developed battle royale.

At around the 13-minute mark of the near two-hour-long interview, Post Malone explained how after getting into it nearly a year-and-a-half ago, he prefers Apex Legends to the likes of Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone.

"Fortnite never stuck out to me because I don't want like f—— 12-year-olds cranking 90s on me and literally making me throw my f—— monitor across the room," he said, "but it's OK because I still do that playing Apex so I don't know why.

"I would play Warzone and s— and Call of Duty and stuff. I was just never a BR guy because I'm not that good at 'em, but something about Apex, I just started playing it and I really, really enjoyed it."

In the last year or so, Post Malone has notably played with popular content creator and steady sharpshooter Timmy "iiTzTimmy" An live. On the show, Post Malone also opened up about his experiences streaming with him.

"I've streamed three times," Post Malone said. "We had a great time. I streamed with Timmy, he's such a dog. He's so good and such a sweet kid and I just gotta get back around to it, you know? I just gotta get back around to it because it's hard. I don't know how to set that s— up, so whenever my buddy comes over who knows what he's doing, I'm just like 'Yeah, OK.'"

Ultimately, after admitting to being an Xbox guy in the past, and someone who's generally been a casual gamer, Post said there was just something about Apex Legends' higher skill ceiling that appealed to him.

"I play with a couple of my buddies, couple of good buddies that I've known for a little bit, and we just run around and see if we can actually do something. That game's so cool because whenever you're good at it, you feel like a badass.

"it's a very satisfying game but it's also like, you want to break your whole computer and your PC."

Post Malone also showed some love to his people at Team Envy, mentioning his fascination with everything that's going on with the American esports org.

"The team in Dallas," he said, "I just saw the whole plans for everything that they're doing over there and it looks so, so, so, so f—— sick. I don't know how much I'm able to disclose but it's such f—— cool s—."

Lastly, Post Malone shared that, believe it or not, it's not that great when players hear that they're playing with the real celebrity star.

"Usually kids bully me when I say that. They're like, 'F— you!' I try to get people to be nice to me, but that doesn't f—— work. That never works."
