PUBG Mobile has released Artic mode which takes a chilling twist to the game's map and player's tactics.

Also know as Cold Front Survival, PUBG players will need to think about more than just run and gun, but also focus on survival tactics if they are to win the match.

PUBG Mobile Arctic Mode: Everything we Know

PUBG mobile has released Artic mode in which players in squads will not only face opponents but also blizzards and cold weather conditions.

Here are the changes in Artic mode:

1. Map covered in snow

2. Player Temperature Bar

  • On the left of a player's health bar is a player's temperature. If this bar falls too low, the player will lose health accordingly to how long they are in the cold for and their body temperature.

3. Blizzard Duration

  • In the top right corner, underneath the map is an indicator that shows how long the cold weather storm will occur for. The blizzard will come and go at different places at random. Therefore, players will need to be wary of their location and possible shelter locations.

4. Staying Warm

  • Shelter does not mean absolute protection. A player will still need to find branches to create a campfire to warm up a player's temperature.
  • A campfire will also be marked on the map, revealing the player or squad's location.
  • Special heat packs can be found around the map and will provide some warmth to a player till they find shelter or a campfire.
  • Heaters, a new item, will provide a small area with warmth.

5. Hunting

  • Players can now hunt chicken in the map and cook it when nearby a campfire.
  • Players will regain some health and have an increase in movement speed after eating cooked chicken, just like after taking an adrenaline shot.

6. Drones

  • Drones will provide scouting and vision benefits to a player hiding in shelter from an opposition or blizzard.
  • They have limited battery usage but can be put away and re-used if not completely drained of its battery.

7. Snowboards

  • New movement item that greatly increases movement speed to help players run from a blizzard or enemy.

    • Inside are additional Heaters and Drones for players to pick up and use.

    Players can experience a different side to PUBG mobile with Artic mode. Focusing on survival alongside shooting, the game doesn't stray far from reality.
