Rennala Boss Guide: How to Beat Rennala in Elden Ring
For most players, Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, will be the second demigod to defeat on the path to becoming Elden Lord. She may not have the brute strength of Godrick the Grafted, but her fight has a slight trick to it that can throw players used to the more straightforward fights Elden Ring has presented thus far. Here's how to beat her.
Rennala Tips and Tricks
The first thing you'll notice when fighting Rennala is that she can't be hit right away — she floats above the ground inside a golden bubble that protects her from damage. You'll need to bring her down to earth to kill her.
To do that, you'll need to pay attention to in-game clues. Scour her crawling minions and look for one that's glowing a similar gold as Rennala. You can also find this minion by listening to the lullaby being sung, as it leads to the critical minion.
Kill this glowing minion and a new one will start glowing and singing. Repeat twice and Rennala will fall from the sky, and you'll have the opportunity to wail on her before she goes back to floating. Repeat this process until she hits zero HP and you'll move into the second phase of the fight.
In the second phase, Rennala becomes much more active. She'll cast spells at you and summon spectral enemies to fight and distract you. Most of the time you should be able dodge these ghosts and focus on killing Rennala — the faster you finish the fight, the less opportunity you give the summoned enemies to hit you. Plus, most disappear pretty quickly on their own.
Rennala's also fairly easy to stagger, so you shouldn't have too much trouble chaining attacks.
Keep this up long enough and you'll conquer the Queen of the Full Moon, becoming one step closer to reforging the Elden Ring.
