Respawn Reveals Details for Apex Legends Next Gen Upgrade
A new patch has been scheduled for Apex Legends, bringing with it the long-awaited next gen upgrades.
Console players have been anxiously awaiting the release of Apex Legend's next gen upgrade. Previously, players had still been running the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the shooter, regardless of whether or not they were in possession of a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Now, along with the latest game update, players can finally upgrade their game to the next level.

Players looking to hop into Apex on the latest console can look forward to the following:

How to Update Apex Legends to the Next Gen Upgrade
PlayStation 5
For those who already have Apex Legends installed:
- Navigate to the Game Hub for Apex Legends on the PS5 dashboard.
- Press the "Options" button next to "Play Game" (represented by "..." inside the Game Hub).
- Press "Select Version" and choose the PS5 version to download the updated next-gen version.
- Once the download is complete, navigate to the Game Library to delete the PS4 version.
For those who do not have Apex Legends installed:
- Navigate to the "Your Collection" tab of the Game Library on the PS5 dashboard.
- Find Apex Legends in your list of games and select it.
- When prompted, choose the PS5 version to download the updated next-gen version.

Apex Legends uses Smart Delivery on Xbox consoles. The most up to date version of the game is automatically delivered to your console, regardless of generation.
