By Max Mallow
Riot Games' anticipated 2D-fighting game set in the League of Legends universe (formerly known as Project L) is now officially called 2XKO.
Riot Games posted an announcement trailer showcasing the game's new name. The trailer begins with Yasuo slicing and dicing up the Project L name before an in-depth gameplay trailer. At the end of the trailer, the name 2XKO is revealed. The League of Legends X account reposted the trailer with "LFG!!!!! (league fighting game)," which many said would have also been an approrpiate title for the game.
Check out the trailer below.

The gameplay trailer showcases five League of Legends characters in 2XKO:
- Ahri
- Yasuo
- Darius
- Illaoi
- Ekko
If you're wondering how to pronounce the game's name, a reply post under the trailer from the account reads "it's pronounced how it's spelled." So, two-ex-kay-oh. The name appears to be a play on words for the game's 2-vs-2 tag fighter format.
Riot Games also posted a developer update featuring Executive Producer Tom Cannon. More gameplay is shown in the update including the HUD, combo meter and special bar. Cannon mentioned an increased focus on garnering community feedback from the FGC. Riot Games plans to attend Evo Japan with a hands-on demo for players to try. The developer will also attend other events, but no other specific showcases, tournaments or conventions were announced yet.

There was no information about a full character roster, but of course it'll be made up of League of Legends champions.
