Ryan Feierabend MLB The Show 20 is a force on the mound, but does his knuckleball still work?
In MLB The Show 19, Ryan Feierabend was known for his brutal knuckleball that looked more like an Eephus pitch, registering on the gun at an impressively low 58 mph. Feierabend's ability to catch hitters entirely off-guard with such a slow breaking pitch carried over into MLB The Show 20, where he can be a solid option as a closer to ensure a win in a close match.

While Feierabend eventually signed a contract with the Uni-President Lions from the Chinese Professional Baseball League, he found some limited success in Major League Baseball. That's mostly because of his unique style as a knuckleballer, a pitcher who can through one of the most difficult to hit pitches in all of baseball.
That difficulty translates in MLB The Show 20, but only if you have the pitchers needed to properly set up the change of pace that Feierabend can supply.
For example, putting a hard fastball pitcher on the mound to start the game, like Nolan Ryan or Justin Verlander, and following it with Feierabend to close is enough to throw even the most talented hitters off their game.
But there is a way the strategy can backfire. Since Feierabend had a relatively short MLB career, he has pretty bad per nine innings statistics and a 49 overall rating, which can work in the hitters favor on close pitches. So the knuckleball isn't foolproof, but it's a great way to confuse your opponent at for at least a few pitches.
