Samsung Galaxy Scout Fortnite Skin: Everything You Need to Know
By Jack O'Dwyer
Samsung Galaxy Scout Fortnite skin has been leaked for players of Epic Games' popular battle royale.
It appears that Samsung isn't quite done with Fortnite yet. While it's not uncommon for large companies to partner with games to promote their brand, this would be the title's second promotion with Samsung—and may follow suit in more ways than one.
The Galaxy Scout skin was leaked by Twitter user @fu and was then corroborated by credible data-miner @iFireMonkey this past week on July 17. According to a tweet from their page, the Galaxy Scout promotion "was already on the app earlier than expected." This has allowed users to catch a glimpse of what their new cosmetic will look like.
Visually, the Scout skin follows suit with the original Galaxy skin from the previous promotion. The body is made up of purple and blue "galaxy" patches with specific details such as the fingers, eyes, hair, and clothing accents glowing bright cyan blue. This time, however, the avatar looks female.
Samsung Galaxy Scout Fortnite Skin: How to Claim
According to a similar leak in the aforementioned credited account @fu, we can see that the skin's "first look" comes from a larger image. Fortnite users have to compete in the Fortnite Galaxy Cup in order to win this skin.
Registration for the Galaxy Cup opens on July 20. It is unclear whether or not the competition will be exclusive for mobile users or if the users must already own the first galaxy skin. The original skin could only be redeemed with the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy phone.
The Galaxy Cup is invite-only. However, neither Samsung nor Epic Games have come forward to confirm that players need to own a Samsung phone or be playing on mobile in order to qualify.
Samsung Galaxy Scout Fortnite Skin Release Date
As the Galaxy Cup registration begins on July 20, it's likely that the skin will be credited to participating players' accounts after the first few matches sometime after. The competition is set to start around July 25.
