Jolly Redd sells various paintings and statues at his shop. In fact, all of the items in his shop are based off of real artwork. The scary painting, for example, is based on "Kabuki Actor Ōtani Oniji III as Yakko Edobei in the Play The Colored Reins of a Loving Wife" by Tōshūsai Sharaku.

Players will have to be careful when purchasing however. Some of the items Redd sells are fakes. Since the scary painting can be faked, players will have to look in the details of the painting to see if it is real. In the case of the scary painting, the fake will show the person in the photo smiling instead of frowning.
