Shiny Fletchling Pokemon GO: How to Catch
By Jack O'Dwyer
Shiny Fletching is the latest Pokemon to be picked for Pokemon GO's monthly Community Day.
Niantic Labs took to the official Pokemon GO Twitter page on Tuesday, Feb. 16, to announce the next choice in its popular Community Day line-up will be the bright little bird, Fletchling. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time on Mar. 6, players will encounter an entire flock of Fletchling invading their neighborhood. Better yet: evolved Fletchlings are guaranteed to know the fire-type move, Incinerate.
Shiny Fletchling Pokemon GO
As always, we would like to remind you that encountering a shiny Pokemon is a 450:1 chance—translating directly to 0.22%. For those who also might have missed this part of math class (sorry, Mom), this means that every individual encounter carries those odds. It isn't so much that trainers will find a shiny every 450 spawns, but rather that every spawn has below a 1% chance to be shiny.
With its place as the latest Community Day Pokemon, trainers will be encountering Fletchling at a much higher rate. Niantic tends to "adjust" the shiny rate here, as well, so trainers should have no problem finding its shiny variant in decent amounts.
Fletchling is the normal and flying-type commonly found in the Kalos region—alongside the popular Rookidee. It was originally introduced in Dec. 2020 alongside the Kalos Celebration event. This means that it will likely be found in windy or cloudy weather in open fields or parks. It currently can hatch from 2 k.m. eggs.
Its shiny form will debut alongside the Community Day program. When shiny, all its plumage takes on a warmer hue. Its previously white body feathers turn a soft gold, the jarring contrast of its burnt orange head disappears, and all its black features are replaced with a soothing, deep mahogany.
Also known as the "Tiny Robin" Pokemon, Fletchling is known for its "beautiful chirps and tail-feather movements." It has a PokeDex number of 661. Trainers can evolve their Fletchling into Fletchinder and then further into Talonflame using 25 and 100 candies, respectively.
More information about Fletchling's Community Day can be found on Niantic's Pokemon GO news blog.
