Skyward Blade Genshin Impact: Everything You Need to Know
By Jacquelyn Li
Skyward Blade is a 5-star sword weapon in Genshin Impact. As a rare weapon, it can help your team dish out a lot more damage if you equip it on the right characters. Here's everything you need to know about what it does, how to obtain it, and who to use it on.
Skyward Blade Genshin Impact: Everything You Need to Know
Skyward Blade is part of the "Skyward" weapon series, which all give Energy Recharge as a secondary stat. Here are the base stats for Skyward Blade:
- Base Attack (Lv. 1): 46
- Energy Recharge (Lv. 1): 12%
- Special Passive Ability: Sky-Piercing Fang - Crit Rate increased by 4%. Gains Skypiercing Might upon using Elemental Burst: Increases Movement SPD by 10%, increases ATK SPD by 10%, and Normal and Charged hits deal additional DMG equal to 20% of ATK. Skypiercing Might lasts for 12s.
As a sword that provides Energy Recharge, Skyward Blade finds its home in the hands of any sword wielder who wishes to cast their Elemental Burst often. Because you are sacrificing the damage potential of a Crit substat, Skyward Blade is more suited for a support character than a DPS.
Kaeya is an example of a support character that can make good use of Skyward Blade, because his Elemental Burst is key to his kit. Other characters that are a good fit include Bennett, Xingqiu, Qiqi, Jean, and Anemo Traveler.
How to Get Skyward Blade
Skyward Blade is not currently in any rate-up banner, although it was selected as a rate-up weapon in the first weapon banner of patch 1.4. It's uncertain when miHoYo will increase its drop rates again.
Currently, the best way to obtain Skyward Blade is to pull on the standard Wish banner, which includes both 5-star characters and 5-star weapons. You can also pull on the current weapon banner, but your chances of obtaining Skyward Blade will be quite low. The best option may be to save your Primogems and wait until it returns as a rate-up weapon.
