Skyward Sword Bamboo Cutting Game Rewards: What Are They?
The Skyward Sword bamboo cutting game rewards are a hot topic at the moment as players are experiencing the earliest story in the Legend of Zelda series on Nintendo Switch for the first time.
Thankfully, it appears Peater's Clean-Cut Challenge remains as fun as it was when it first debuted on the Wii 10 years ago. Here are the rewards up for grabs by participating in the mini-game.
Skyward Sword Bamboo Cutting Game Rewards: What Are They?
The Clean-Cut Challenge in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is activated by talking to Peater on Bamboo Island, which is located northeast of Skyloft.
In exchange for 10 rupees, Peater will allow Link to stand in place and use his sword to cut down a very tall bamboo stock into as many pieces as he possibly can before it falls over. The more clean cuts, the better the prizes.
- 0-14 times: Nothing
- 15-19 times: 30 Rupees
- 20-27 times: a Monster Horn or an Evil Crystal
- 28+ times: a Goddess Plume, a Golden Skull or a Blue Bird Feather
This is where, as Nintendo says, the remapped Switch Joy-Con motion controls really come to play in this HD remake.
Typically, players will want to slice as horizontally as possible to keep the bamboo from falling away, and to preserve as much bamboo to cut as possible.
Some other tricks of the trade are putting Link's shield away (to avoid accidentally shield bashing), as well as taking a Stamina Potion and spamming alternating directions of the whirlwind attack.
